Boardworks surfboards are built in a 2 piece mold that is built using a tuned master that comes directly from our signature shapers. The molds have heating elements built in, which allows the epoxy resin to cure at a high temperature.

Each board has an EPS (expanded poly styrene) core that is shaped to an exact tolerance. The boards are hand laid up in the open mold, starting with a gelcoat paint, layers of glass, high density sheet foam (9 pound density) more glass and the EPS core, with super toughened epoxy foaming resin (20 pound density) on the rails for extra ding resistance. The 2 halves of the mold are then connected and placed in a press. The boards are compressed in the mold, and cured under a high temperature. After the board comes out of the mold it is sprayed with the basecoat layers, clearcoat, and polished. This yields a product that is light, tight and extremely durable.

ESS- Epoxy stringer system. On all Boardworks boards over 7', they insert the Epoxy Stringer System. This is a set of three 8mm pvc stringers saddled in 4oz. glass, and pressed into a routed slot in the blank. The saddle of 4oz. glass bonds with the layer of 4oz. under the deck sheet foam to create a stiffer, stronger longboard than any other on the market today.

We currently stock select Boardworks models from shapers Steve Walden, Bruce Jones, Mike Hynson, Yancy Spencer and Carl Schaper. Inventory changes often, so call for updates.
